The mission of SOMS (Soaring Over Meth and Suicide) is to raise awareness about Native American suicide rates, to establish a core group of community members to guide this project, and to create formal and informal community supports for Native American youth and families.

Background |
Nebraska Urban Indian Health Coalition received funding for a project that seeks to respond to the disproportionate rates of suicide in the Native American community. The project was funded by the Indian Health Service. The goal of this project is to raise awareness about Native American suicide rates, establish a core group of formal and informal community supports for Native American youth and families.
